Winter City Break Outfits

A wintertime city break can be such an exciting time as you take a few days off work to explore a new town or city, either here in the UK or further afield. However, it also means needing to pack more layers and cosy items. We’ve collected a few of our staple items to make the perfect winter city break outfits.

Outerwear is a necessity for winter breaks, regardless of location. Most places across Europe will be cold so it’s important to look the part so you feel warm and cosy underneath! We recommend taking a coat that will see you through multiple events, from sightseeing to meals out in the evening. Choose a coat in a neutral shade or in a colour that compliments the rest of your holiday wardrobe. The non-negotiable is that it has to be waterproof!

Shoes are probably the next important item to pack. For a short city break, you can often get away with taking just one pair of shoes or boots but some may pack an extra pair for nighttime events. We love to take a pair of leather boots with a sturdy tread for walking. They could be short ankle boots, like Chelsea boots, or a knee-high pair of riding boots. Again, choose a pair that goes with every outfit you’re taking. Shades of brown are usually the easiest to wear with any shade of denim as well as skirts, jodhpurs and trousers.

Layering is next on your list. A fleece layer is a great way to keep warm underneath a waterproof coat. Whether it’s a gilet or full zip, long-sleeved style, you can also add a pop of colour here if you wish to. Winter city break outfits were made for layering so thin layers are best. Layer thermals and shirts underneath and you’ll be set for every activity!
